It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Irene Laverne Jasperson (Gram J. to many). She was called to the Lord on September 17, 2025. Irene shared her huge heart with us for 99 ½ years! She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Irene was born on January 27, 1926, and lived life to its fullest. She possessed unwavering strength and kindness. She loved people, especially her family. She was proceeded in death by her husband Carl; daughter Barbara, son Patrick; son-in-law William; her parents Beatrice and James; 7 brothers and sisters.
Irene is survived by her daughter Charlotte (William) Novak; son Michael (Nancy) Jasperson; granddaughter Dr. Deanna (Daniel) Chiodo; grandson Anthony Alshouse; granddaughter’s Brandee (Steven) Bobzin; Farrah (Devin) Flynn; Kristie (Mitch) Sperl; great-grandchildren Natalie Sperl, Aiden Flynn, Olivia Flynn, Aubree Sperl and Chase Flynn. In addition to her family, Irene made a memorable impact on everyone she met.
A celebration of Irene’s life will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Dares Funeral Home, 805 Main St. NW Elk River.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice and Our Lady of Peace Hospice and Home Health Care. Your kindness, love, attention and patience will forever be remembered.
